Canton Fair 2026: what Nigerian importers need to know

The Canton Fair is the biggest import and export fair in the world. It happens in Guangzhou, China. If you import goods from China to Nigeria, this is where you meet factories directly.

The three phases

The fair runs in three phases. You attend the one for your products.

• Phase 1: 15–19 October 2026 — electronics, appliances, machinery, vehicles, building materials, lighting.
• Phase 2: 23–27 October 2026 — household goods, kitchenware, furniture, gifts, ceramics, decor, toys.
• Phase 3: 1–5 November 2026 — clothes, shoes, bags, textiles, food, medicine, office supplies.

Location: Canton Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China.

What to do at the fair

• Go with product pictures and business cards.
• Ask for the MOQ (minimum order quantity) and the FOB price.
• Collect catalogues and WeChat contacts, and take videos.
• Don't pay the full amount at the fair. Pay a deposit only after you have verified the company.
